Forbes has unveiled its annual top 50 list of promising private AI companies, featuring both well-known and lesser-known names. Among these is Descript, a $525 million startup that uses AI to edit out awkward pauses and filler words in videos and podcasts. Another notable company is Snorkel, which employs AI to label raw data for half of the top 10 U.S. banks. The list showcases AI's diverse applications, spanning medicine, defence, video, legal contracts, and even agricultural machinery.

Compared to Forbes' Cloud 100 list, which focuses on traditional SaaS companies, the AI 50 list consists of younger and smaller businesses, suggesting many more emerging companies are gaining momentum. Despite their size, this year's AI 50 have collectively raised a substantial $27.2 billion in funding

๐Ÿฆ Twitter Dives into AI World

Elon Musk seems to be driving Twitter into a major AI project, as the company reportedly bought 10,000 GPUs and hired experts from Google DeepMind. GPUs are specialised chips that speed up complex math calculations, making them perfect for AI systems that need lots of data processing.

Though specifics are still secret, Twitter's huge GPU investment suggests they're taking AI seriously and could become a key player in the generative AI space.

๐ŸŒŽ Kuwait Presents AI News Anchor

Kuwait News, a top media source, has revealed "Fedha," an entirely AI-generated virtual news reporter. She represents Kuwait's diverse population and may eventually develop a Kuwaiti accent and even present live online news bulletins.

As AI improves, telling AI-generated characters from real people might get harder. This could be the start of a new age for news and social media.
